Utah Adventure Journal: Red Rock Climbing Photos

The Utah Adventure Journal published their Fall edition recently, and they featured one of my photos in an article about climbing at Red Rock National Conservation Area. Located just beyond the (ever-expanding) edge of Las Vegas, Red Rock is an international rock climbing destination that draws climbers from all over the world.

The article was written by fellow AMGA Rock Guide Jonathan Spitzer and his wife Rachel. My shot is the large one at top left of pages 48-49, in which Jonathan climbs the classic dihedral Gin Ricky (5.10c).

Backpacker Magazine: Classic Parks, No Crowds Edition

Backpacker Magazine just ran their August issue, and they featured one of my Mt. Langley photos on page 61 (cover photo is not mine). Mt. Langley (14,026′) is the southern-most 14’er in the Sierra Nevada range, and is a great hike to do over a couple days. If you’re feeling ambitious, you can knock off the 22 miles and 4,000′ vertical feet in a day.

This image is from the nicely maintained trail just below New Army Pass. Most folks opt for this smoother route in spite of the extra couple miles it adds to the route to the summit, but a few still take the rockier and steeper Old Army Pass route.
